Today was one of those thursdays when I would wake up with a purpose. I would do all the chores quickly so that when the clock strikes ten, I am at the MAC store. Today was no different, however, I can say with great pride that I walked out of the store with nothing, nadda, zilch!
There were many reasons for this. First of all, I am not a big fan of palettes and kits. I think if you own one of two things already and quiet similar, it is a total waste of money. So as much as I wanted the Viva Glam bag, I had to pass because I already have the lipstick and a similar lip gloss. To me the stand out of the collection were the pigments. They are absolutely gorgeous but I am not a pigment person to begin with so I had to pass.
Overall, the items are great for someone who is new to MAC or makeup in general. For a holiday collection the packaging is really pretty but that alone does not warrant buying the product (at least to me!)
So there are no pictures to share unfortunately but there are numerous websites which with have hauls and products images by now.
On the bright side, I can save up money for some Chanel releases. Yayyy!! :)

Yes so here is my teensy haul of the MAC Disney Venomous Villains Collection. I had made a long list of products that I thought were a must have but as the date approached, my list shrank and I got so disinterested that I decided to skip the preview party. Then when the collection was available online I only got the blush in "Bite of an Apple", only because I am in that phase of my makeup obsession where I think I can never have enough blush! Go figure!
So its almost mid night and lighting is pretty bad but I do attempt to take some pictures. I will spare the bad swatch photos though :)
I can say for sure that I am not a fan of the packaging. But I do love the box packaging. If they had used their standard matte finish product packaging and sketched the images (like on the box), it would have looked so much classier. This just looks like something I picked in Disney store for my little god daughter. You know what I mean?
As far as the product is concerned, it is quiet pigmented. For fair skin tones I would suggest to use a stippling brush. It would make a good summer blush and may work for fall but I am not so sure about winter. I may be wrong!
Overall, a good quality product if you can overcome the initial packaging aversion.

But I will be happy! :)
Between the upcoming Sephora friends and family sale and the SAKS Friends and Family sale (going on right now)!
I would concentrate on brands like Illamasqua and MUFE as they are not available anywhere else and this is a good opportunity to get them a bit cheaper. But that does not stop me from buying other things. :)
So as promised in an earlier post here is my wish list!
1) Illamasqua
I was so excited to see their counter at my local Sephora. I swatched and swatched like there was no tomorrow and this is what I ended up wanting!
- Cream Blushes in Rude
- Powder Blush in Hussy
A lot of people are recommending the nail polishes too but I think I have splurged on a lot from Chanel lately
2)
Makeup Forever
- Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in S29
This is a new item by Fresh and I am in love with Fresh products so it is a good time to try this too.
Last year when this product came out it sold even before I had a chance to go look at them. But the reviews have been awesome. And not to mention, great value too.
Now Sephora also carries Bobbi Brown so that is something to look into. And Maybe a Guerlain Foundation, I must go and get matched in store first. Or Should I finish a drawer full of foundations?? Decisions decisions! :)
What is your wishlist?

I was flipping through this month's Harper Bazaar and I saw a new product from NYC. It is a lip gloss in a pot with rose design. So I went online and I cant find it anywhere on their website. I think this warrants a trip to CVS today.
Have you guys seen it? I had never seen it or heard of it before. But for three or four dollars it is worth a try.
What else is new in drugstores?

As the weather changes, I feel the need to change my bag. In spite of having a trillion bags already, there is not one that will fulfill my needs (Yes, its true!). Previously I had always been a fan of small compact bags but now all of a sudden I desire a largish satchel or maybe a tote.
I thought I will go to Target and get one of the Mulberry ones and be happy about it but when I saw them, I was highly disappointed. They felt cheap and lacked good craftsmanship. So I passed! So i ventured on the high end ones :) yes! mulbery by target vs the rest!
Anyhow, here are the nominees.

THIS BAG REMINDS ME OF A pRADA :) And i love the size, it is Just perfect :)
poppy sequin tartan spotlight xl
in terms of color it is impractical for everyday use but how pretty is it. i am loving the tartan print these days and hence i am biased towards this bag :)
Louis vuitton neverfull GM
this bag is exactly what i desire as far as being practical is concerned. it is a classic bag and will never go out of style.
I feel like there are many i have not looked into so i will keep looking till i find the perfect love at first sight bag! what are your suggestions?

One of the most anticipated collaboration this season is that of Mulberry and Target. Mulberry is releasing a variety of handbags for Target and they go on shelves today. The bag designs are truly reminiscent of the classic Mulberry handbag styles.
My favorite items are
I will be definitely heading down to my local Target to check them out in person. :) It is also available online at this

I had a gift card from macys and I contemplated on what to splurge on. Obviously makeup and something Chanel comes to mind, I went to the store with no particular object in mind but when I saw Plum attraction, I had to have it. It is unlike any blush I have and I have lotsssssssssss of blushes.
It will be a great wear for winter. It is very pigmented and I would begin by applying a light hand and then building it up.
I am actually pretty impressed with the brush that comes with it. It picks up the product well and applies beautifully. Because of a great mirror and this brush this is a perfect blush to carry.
And here is a swatch.
They are a splurge for $42 a piece but I if you had to buy just one blush this winter, consider a Chanel one. :)
You can also order from
chanel.com. They have a free shipping code at the moment "0910GLOSS".

It has been about two months since I purchased a Clarisonic Plus. After using it regularly twice a day every day, I can say this is one of the best beauty investment I have made in a while. They truly mean clean when they say clean. I will not bore you with laborious details, they can be found at there website at
www.clarisonic.com.
That is what the box looks like. It comes with some basic skincare but I have just being using it with my own skincare.
The model I purchased is
Plus. They have a good
comparison chart to help you decide which one suits best to your needs. My rationale of purchasing this particular model is that I also wanted to use a body brush but in all honesty I have yet to try it. Showers for me are a quick run of the mill task since I usually have a toddler screaming at the door. One day I will get to it I promise. :)
I also like the cradle the device sits in.
The body brush that comes with the kit.
Overall, I think it is a great purchase. It claims to reduce pore size because it keeps the skin clean. It is too early for me to be making those claims. But I can definitely tell that my skin has looks glowy and radiant.
It is a pricey purchase so look out for sales and deals. You can definitely get a good deal if you grab one at one of those Sephora friends and family sales.

Rumor has it that Sephora will be having a friends and family sale on Oct 21, 2010. I called the customer service but no one confirmed anything. It maybe 20% or higher. They said to look out for the email that may come in your inbox with the exact details.
So start making those lists :) The brands to look out for are
1)
Illamasqua
2)
Makeup Forever
3)
Hourglass
I will post my "must have items" list soon :)
